A scheme exploring the idea of home. What makes a building a home? How can the design help it serve a lifetime? How can the design marry affordability and quality? How can our homes be positive for our environment and planet?
The proposal explored the idea of a modular timber frame structure, allowing for efficient construction and adaptability of spacial arrangement and floor area.
Adaptability is built into each element of the design, from movable screens to give shading and privacy, to multi use space dividers. The house starts as a 2 or 3 bedroom home, with external sheltered areas ready for conversion to internal space as needs change.
